Type S net assembly
This “S” type net system is used for industrial buildings on construction sites, bridges, etc., and can be made at any size depending on the area to be covered. For the safety nets installation the following parameters will be taken into account:
Size of the type S: For the type S installation, the minimum size of the net will be at least 35 m2. For the rectangular nets, the length of the smallest side will be at least 5 mts. Note: the small safety nets (smaller than 35 m2 and with a smaller side of 5 mts.) Should be specified by National Standards. Installation: The type S, are installed with a tied rope to the anchorage points capable of resisting the characteristic load. The distance anchorage points must be less than 2,5 mts. To calculate each anchorage point, the characteristic load P used, will be at least 6 KN, for a fallen of 6 mts. height . Joining: To join safety nets by passing coupling ropes trough each mesh to ensure no gaps greater than 100 mm are created. In case of S type, by overlapping, the minimum overlap will be 2 mts. (Figure 1a and 1b).
There are two ways to assemble the type S net:
a) On the floor: Spread the nets on the floor and lace the coupling rope in a way that there cannot be any gaps greater than 100 mm. inside the netted area. Adjust the nets, pass the tied ropes through each of the meshes, and tie the ends of the coupling ropes to the border ropes. Raise the nettings, already adjusted to the dimensions of the construction site, and tie them through their border rope to the determined anchoring points, or the elements of the structure. (The distance between anchoring points must be less than 2,5 mts.).
b) Elevated: Raise the nets and tie them through their border rope to the structure at less than 2,5 m centers. Once the nets are elevated and tied to the anchorage points, join them with coupling rope passing through each mesh.
